Started disabling devices and found the Atheros ARG wireless network adapter when disabled returned all to normal. In reply to Nachappa C K’s post on June 10, I would like to inform you that the issue may be caused due to virus or malware or due to CPU usage by any program.

Tried to re-enable driver and CPU usage and system interrupts reoccurred. I’m trying to connect my 64bit packard bell ixtreme to my wifi but, although the connection is visible, I keep getting an error message saying that there was a problem connecting.

As Juan wrote it must be hardware limitation. If you have problems with Atheros utility remove it from the system. Enabling the wireless card allows systems to read chipset information and manufacturer name, as well as connect to a network without using an Ethernet cable.
Appears to be functioning fully except no wifi.
