I have spoken to Gateway tech support and searched the tech support website about the processor upgrade possibilities for this motherboard. I also used to have a giant P case but with different styling.
If you have regular CPU you can set it whatever you want and it still works at what it set at factory.

Most likely your is 1. All of the adjustments for this motherboard are automatic with manual intervention allowed only to reset the BIOS. I did a fair amount of looking as well, and got to where you are and gave up. I know that Coppermine processors can be run on BX boards at the 1 Ghz speed. My primary concern is the core voltage requirements of the coppermine processors which are lower than the Katmai processors.

I’m not stuck on a P3 built an Athlon system last year. This disclaimer is brought to you thanks to the BSA. My Dell BX motherboard that shipped with a P3 shows 00 Mhz at post, As dell didn’t leave enough space for 4 inel it seems.
